Organisation:- SiCED is a legally autonomous entity, working as a GmbH and Co. KG
(comparable to Ltd. In the US or GB) - SiCED is owned by Siemens and Infineon, both holding approx. 50%.
- SiCED employs around 25 researchers, technicians and assistants.
History:- SiCED originated from a former Siemens Central Research Group (Corporate Technology CT)
- SiCED continues the activities dedicated to SiC Technology for the development of power devices
Main Activities:- SiCED develops technology and systems based on silicon carbide power devices predominantly for Siemens and Infineon
- SiCED is also engaged in manufacturing and selling prototypes of SiC power devices in small volumes in order to enable potential customers to test SiC devices in their applications
- SiCED supports the development of accompanying technologies mandatory for the success of SiC in a broad range of applications (e.g. packaging for elevated temperatures or creating circuit models)
- SiCED performs basic work on devices intended to be used in future applications which today are not yet in the industrial focus, mostly by utilizing funding and co-operations
